KHADI

Khadi is most popularly identified as the fabric promoted by Mahatma Gandhi as a part of the self-sufficiency (Swadeshi) freedom movement liberating the Indian subcontinent from British colonial rule. This hand-spun woven fabric is made using a cotton yarn spun on a wheel. There are some forms of Khadi fabric woven in silk or woolen yarns depending on the region where it is spun.
